Chickpea burgers

Thanks to Sally for her contribution with this healthy and good value recipe (which I have made twice now and they are delicious)

Hi Ya Lesley x Here is the recipe for delicious chickpea burgers; Can be eaten hot or as I do keep some in fridge for tasty snacking.


410-grm chickpeas drained & rinsed.

1 carrot peeled grated

1 small onion peeled grated

handful sunflower seeds

1 tbsp tahini

1 garlic clove peeled chopped

1 tsp vegetable boullion powder



1. preheat oven 220c/gas mark 7.

2. place all ingredients in bowl; I use a hand-held blender & blend for 5-10 secs...keep mixture fairly coarse with some texture.

3. wet hands & shape into about 10-12 balls, place on baking tray & flatten slightly with back of spoon.

4. Bake for 15-18 mins till lightly coloured (but I give them longer as I like the edges crispy)

5. serve with crunchy salad & I also like to serve with sweet potato wedges.
